DAY 29 - Whale, we picked up a new passenger today! So we did have plans to cross into Alaska today, but then we realized that meant another 6 hours of driving, emptying our cooler, and alot of other hassle. We also realized that we are heading out of The Yukon to BC on Sunday and that means a lot more driving and living out of the truck. So instead we decided to take advantage of this day to restock and reorganize for the trip ahead. We got up and headed into town right away. First on the stop was an oil change, seeing as how we were already over the milage and the next actual stop wasn't until we hit Whistler - which is about 4 days and 2230km away. Unfortunately Whitehorse doesn't have a Ford dealership, so we headed to the next best thing and were in and out in within a half an hour. Zack even got to nerd out with the mechanic about some of their favourite shows, so I'm sure it made it go quicker for the both of them lol Next we headed t...

Day 26: Pay Dirt! After a wonderful sleep in our tent, we awoke around 9am to full sun beaming through the tent. I didn't have the best sleep, but Melinda wanted to make it down to the breakfast before 10:30 because the menu is limited after that. We went down to the local cafe called the RiverWest Bistro. They served a griddle breakfast sandwich, which included egg, bacon, and cheese smushed between two Belgian waffles and served with real maple syrup, so we were pretty excited needless to say. After ordering our food Melinda got a cappuccino with a shot of vanilla and I got my double Americano short. The girl who took our order wasn't the friendliest, however, everyone else there was extremely nice. We got our food and drinks and everything was amazing, most likely going again tomorrow for breakfast hahaha You could tell the chef actually cared about the quality and presentation of their food! After breakfast we cruised the downtown str...

DAY 25 - Arriving in Dawson City, YT! Sorry folks, another late post lol we'll try not to make a habit out of this 😂 Yesterday we packed up our things from our airbnb, had our last hot shower and headed out for Dawson City, YT! It was about a 6.5 hour drive from Whitehorse and we weren't really sure what to expect. We decided to grab a coffee for our drive because we haven't had one in forever, and folks, PUMPKIN SPICE IS OFFICIALLY HERE 😍 Call me basic I know, but you can't deny how good anything pumpkin is!! Anyways, we took off on the highway 2 N (Klondike highway) towards Dawson City. Almost immediately we lost service again. It's crazy how much we take our phones and service for granted, and this trip is teaching us how ridiculously dependant we are on them. But, it's also helping us to become a lot less dependent, so that's a big plus. The roads were alot better then we expected, but they did gradually get worse as we went. ...

DAY 24 - Exploring Whitehorse! Yesterday we had a nice, cozy sleep-in and didn't have a set schedule for the day. When we were finally up and at em' we headed into town, about 5 minutes away. We figured we should explore the city and get as many passport stamps that we could. We drove around for a little bit, getting familiar with town and stopped at a couple historical places along the way. Whitehorse is a pretty small town so it was easy to get to know the streets and area quickly. We parked on one of the main strips and thought it would be nice to walk around and check out some stores. We went into a couple interesting gift shops, much like the rest of the ones we have visited elsewhere, and got our usual souvenirs! Zack has also been wanting to visit a music store since the beginning of our trip and we haven't been able to find any yet. Seeing as how Whitehorse was far more of a city than Banff or Jasper, we knew we'd have more luck...
