After the insane day of excitement we had yesterday, we sure had a good sleep and a relaxing day! The hotel bed was so fluffy and comfy, we decided to sleep in and then just see where the day took us. We ended up getting up around 8:30 and heading down to get some continental breakfast, which wasn't great. We grabbed a coffee on our way out and enjoyed it on our balcony overlooking the mountains.
Since this was our first time settling down somewhere on our trip so far, we thought it would be a good idea to do some laundry. Luckily the Canmore Rocky Mountain Inn had laundry facilities, so we checked out, threw a load of laundry in and hung out in the lobby until it was done. During this time we also did some much needed re-organization of the truck after being it non-stop for many days.
Super special shoutout to my daddio Dave McNeice who let us take his 2016 Ford F150 on the trip with us - it truly has been amazing, and has made our trip a million times easier.
Once laundry was done we packed up and headed to Grizzly Paw Brewing Company for a brewery tour. We have heard nothing but good things about this place, and bonus is our friend Barbie also works there. Zack had it all set in the GPS heading to Old Canmore Rd. but I insisted it was at their other location downtown so we headed there instead. I was very wrong. After 10 minutes of trying to find parking and finding out we were not at the right place, Zack gave me a big old I told you so and we headed to the brewery 😂 After arriving 15 minutes late, thankfully they still squeezed us in and it was well worth it. The beer was fantastic and the people were even better!!
After the tour it was about 4:30pm and Zack and I decided we were going to sleep in the truck tonight in the parking lot of the Inn.
We parked the truck and headed towards downtown to hit up a local pub for some beers. As soon as we were leaving we heard the rain drops hit the top of the truck and could see the very dark, orange sky rolling in. After only a couple minutes of walking we saw a Boston Pizza and just decided to stay close due to the weather. Barbie joined us for some drinks after work and we had a wonderful evening chatting about life and giving us all her best suggestions for our adventure ahead. We thoroughly enjoyed our day just catccing up and taking it easy, and are now hunkered down in the truck for the night. Tomorrow we will be leaving Canmore and heading to our next destination in Banff!
