DAY 3 - Hike to Lumsden Lake!
August 06, 2018

Today we got up nice and early, packed up some lunch and headed out for our hike. With Gracie strapped to Roni, Clara strapped to Tine and Sammy hiking with the rest of us, we tackled the 12KM round trip to Lumsden Lake. This was one of the first lakes in the area to show the signs of acidification which has cleared all the fish and zooplankton from the lakes. Although the crystal clear lakes have been beautiful over the years, it's so nice to see them coming back now! Once we arrived at the rocks we all had a couple good jumps and a refreshing swim, then warmed up on the rocks before heading back. We ended our day with some delicious fish and chips at Herbert's Fisheries, and had a little visit from some otter friends to end the evening!!

Tomorrow we are heading out of Killarney to start our treck out West!
